THE WORKING MEN PROJECT

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

The Working Men Project would like to thank everyone involved in the production and putting together of this website.

Special thanks goes to the following individuals who made an outstanding contribution towards the development of the site:

Raul, Sergi, Jozef, Cristobal, Laurent, James and Gustavo, who participated in the original working group of service users (male sex workers)that drew together the ideas and the concept of the website design during Oct-Dec 2001.

Roy Perestrelo, from the St Mary's IM&T department, who provided training on the use of Macromedia's Dreamweaver software to the members of the above group, during the same time period.

Sergi (member of the original group) who designed the basic page frame (the blue border and flashmovie animate man - the WMP logo).

Extra special thanks goes to Andre and Rudolf, who spent the best part of Christmas 2001 actually designing the site. Rudolf provided the technical aspects, while Andre directed with the artistic layout and building on the design aspects of the site.

Particular thanks goes to Miriam Rainsford, who assisted with the technical aspects of getting the site up and running and hosted with UK Servers, in February 2002. Miriam also volunteered weekly at the WMP providing the regular updates to the news section and providing IT support for the management of the site, during the first six months of it's operation.

Our thanks also goes to the European Network Male Prostitution, as some of their Northern European regional funding helped pay for development of the site, maintenance and for providing gratuity payments to some of the volunteers supporting the project.

This all culminated in October 2002, when the site was shorted as a contender in the Health Service Journal Management Awards, under the category 'Joint Working to Improve Health Inequalities', highlight by the judges because of its use of service users in the development. Following a presentation in October to the judging panel, Andre Erasmus and Senior Nurse Practitioner/Manager Justin Gaffney were invited to attend the Awards Dinner, in the presence of the Prime Minister Tony Blair MP, on the 1st November 2002.

Pictured here, you can see Andre and Justin accepting the award on behalf of the team.

So, to you all, for your help, support and continued contribution - THANK YOU!
